Christians are often surprised when marriage is hard because we may mistakenly believe that following Christ guarantees a smooth and conflict-free relationship. However, the Bible reminds us that marriage, like any relationship, involves two flawed individuals navigating life together in a broken world. Challenges are not a sign of failure but an opportunity for growth, sanctification, and learning to love as Christ loves – through patience, sacrifice, and forgiveness.
