Our Beliefs.
Simply put, Fairway Christian Church believes what the Bible says. Below is a list of several key doctrines, declaring what the Bible says.
What we believe about God.
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) “The earth is the LORD ‘s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.” (Psalm 24:1-2) “Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.” (Romans 11:33-36)

What we believe about Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. He is fully human and fully divine—the incarnation of God Himself. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfectly sinless life, was crucified for the sins of the world, and arose bodily from the grave, victorious over sin and death. He ascended to His Father in Heaven and will one day return to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
“In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” (Hebrews 1:1-3) “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death — even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:5-11) “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4;)

What we believe about The Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is fully God in Spirit form, active from the beginning of the world. He convicts, comforts, teaches, and empowers believers to live godly lives. He equips all believers with gifts to be used to build up the church. As followers of Christ, we strive to be controlled by the Holy Spirit, who lives in us.
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” (John 14:16-17) “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.” (Romans 8:11)

What we believe about The Bible.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17) “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12) “Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” (2 Peter 1:20-21)
Additional Scriptures to Study: Psalm 119
What we believe about sin.
“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’ So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:26-27) “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2)
Additional Scriptures to Study: 1 John 3:4; Psalm 8:3-6
What we believe about salvation.
“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:16) “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) “Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’” (Acts 2:38)
Additional Scriptures: Romans 6:1-4; 10:9-10; Galatians 3:26-27; Romans 5:8-9; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21
What we believe about eternity.
Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. People have been created to live eternally with God. However, if we ignore God’s offer of salvation, we are choosing to spend eternity in Hell, separated from God by our sins. The Christian will spend eternity in Heaven with God through faith in Jesus Christ.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:16-17) “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
